WESTPORT MINE ON FIRE.
ALL WORK STOPPED. 250 MEN IDLE. By Telegraph. —Press Association.) WESTPORT, this day. Word was received in Westport last night that the Westport Coal Company's mine at Millerton was on fire. The Company refused to give any particulars. It appears that the fire broke out yesterday morning in the main haulage way through the old working. There is__ only one exit, and consequent. ]y all work is stopped. It will probably be some considerable time before "work can be resumed. The mine employs 250 men.
