CLAIM FOR COMMISSION.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) HAMILTON, this day. In the Magistrate's Court yesterday, Mr Cntten, S.M., gave judgment for defendants in a case Eli Smith v. Lucien Allen and Co., claiming £150, half-com-mission on a sale of property by defendant. Plaintiff claimed that he had arranged with defendants to act m_tually, as on another's agents, and sent a letter notifying them that Mitchell, a likely purchaser, was visiting Hamilton. Mitchell had, however, previously been in Hamilton, when he met defendants, who had then mentioned the property, which was subsequently bought through them. The magistrate held that the sending of a letter as to the probable visit of Mitchell was not an act- sufficient to entitle plaintiff to claim half commission under his arrangement with defendants.
