. i; RESULT OF WEDDED CtTP COMPETITION. ANNUAL MEETING. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Mr McGowan (President) presided at the annual meeting of the Dairymen's Association held in Hamilton on Friiay. Officers for the ensuing year were sleeted as follows: —President, Mr D. J. McGowan (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs. A. Bevins and S. A. Longuet (reslected), S. J. Ambury, B. Dick, and A. G. McKenzie; hon. solicitor, Mr W. M. Ncumegen; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr A. H. Stringer; hon. auditor, Mr H. W. Wilding, jiin.; e:tecutive committee, Mesi-s. Beange, Dixon, Scobie, Kirkman, Sargent, Stanton, and Downs. It was resolved to recommend the various agricultural and pastoral associations that only the points gained by the prize-winners should be published at the various shows in connection with which butter is exhibited, but that all points scored by the various exhibitors should be available to exhibitors. It was decided to send shilling subscription lists to the various factory and creamery managers for the purpose of obtaining a prize fund for a class for the members of the Auckland Provincial Dairymen's Association exclusively. It was also resolved to inaugurate a class to be judged by factory managers and one representative from the exjiorting houses at the next Auckland winter show. The essay competition on "The Care and Treatment of Milk from the Cow to the Factory," resulted as follows:-— Fred. Thomson, Waverley, 1; A. Scobie, Whangarei, 2; E. J. Jephson, Paterangi, 3. There were 17 entries. The conditions for the competition for the Weddel Cup allotted by the Association for the factory in the Auckland province scoring the highest aggregate number of points in the export butter class throughout the season, Oct. 1907, to March, 1908, to be won two years in succession, were read out by Mr Masscy, who then announced the result as follows: — Bay of Islands Co-operative Dairy Company, Weddel cup and £5 (92.50 points), 1. Thames Valley Co-operative Dairy Company, £3 (91.81 points), 2. Eureka Co-operative Dairy Company, £2 (91.38 points), 3. The other competitors in rotation were; Jas. McKnight, Te Aroha Co-operative Dairy Co., Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Association, Ambury. English, and Co., Ltd". (2), Hokianga Co-operative Dairy Co., Wayby Co-operative Dairy Co., Auckland Fresh Food and Ice Co., Waikickie Co-operative Dairy Co., Oruru Fairburn Co-operative Dairy Co., To Rau-a-Moa Co-operative Dairy Co., Whitford Park, Ohura Dairy Co., Auckland Fresh Food and Ice Co., Parua Bay Dairy Co.
