His Excellency the Governor, Lord Plunket, will preside at the annual gathering of the Bands of Hope on Thur»day evening, in the Koyal Albert HalL On Saturday next the Governor at" tends the Savage Club's Korero.. The Hon. Kathleen Plunket is expected to return from Rotorua to-day.
Lady Plunket attends the meeting ot the Mothers' Union in St. Matthew* Parish Hall te-morrow.
Their Excellencies and staff expect to leave on June 9 for Napier, whence, after a few days, they proceed to Palmerston North. •»
Mr H. C. Waterfield, private secretary, has written to the Management Committee of the New Zealand Kugby Union acknowledging receipt of a list of the matches in New Zealand in" wnicii the British team will be engaged. Although it was, he said, impossible for His Excellency to decide at present what matches he could attend, he hoped that he would be able to witness the contest New Zealand v. Britishers, at Wellington, on June 27, also the match Man*■watu and Horowhenua (combined) v» Britishers, at Palmerston,. on July 8.
