Zimmerman, belonging, to the steamer Jesse Burns, which is discharging hardwood from Australia, went on board, and, it is alleged* used insulting language to another fireman, Athol *ZanL The latter left the forecastle, and was challenged by Zimmerman to fight. It is further alleged that Zimmerman procured two knives, and a fight ensued, Zani receiving eleven -wounds, one of which is said to have penetrated the lungs. He was removed to the hospital. Zimmerman has been arrested.
