POLO. THE SATILLE CUP? ' • • ; (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) " WELLINGTON, Wednesday. • The polo tournament was continued at Miramar this afternoon. The weather was favourable, and there was a fair number of spectators. An excellent game in the competition for the Saville cup took place between Hawke"s Bay and Mangaheia* the former winning by seven goals to four ' Tee play -was exciting throughout. Nelson foHawke's Bay, played a magnificent "'ame scoring four of the seven goals for his side' Williams and Reynolds played well for Mangaheia. The only other game was a handicap cup match between Raugitiket and Manawatu. Rangitikei had to concede Manawatu four goals, but they notched four before Manawatu scored, so that from this out the chances were level. Manawatu played up wel! and added five goals to their opponents' three, the game thus endingManawatu, 9; Rangitikei, 7. • -

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Polo Association was held to-night The balance-sheet showed a credit for the year of £6 12/10, and it was decided to hold the next annual tournment at Palmerston North. Officers were elected as followsPresident, his Excellency the Governor; vice-president, Mr. R. S. Abraham; committee, Messrs. A. 11. Russell, D. G. A. Cooper S. Williamson, J. D. Hall, and R. L. L«vin-' secretary, Mr. C. J Crawford; auditor, Mr. K. Bucholz.- Affiliation was granted to the Opotiki and Pareora clubs.

PONSONBY HOCKEY CLUB.

The members of the Ponsonby Hockey Club held their second annual meeting at the Leys Institute last night. The president Gx the club, Mr C. H. Poole, occupied the chair. The financial position of the clnb was considered to be satisfactory, when the expenditure necessary for a new clnb was taken into consideration. The committee, in presenting their report, remarked that the prospects for the coming season were very good, the membership haying iv- v creased, while it was anticipated that three teams would be entered for the championship competitions. On account of the iucreased wound fees, it. was decided to raise the annual subscription to 13/ for seniors and 12/G for juniors. ' BOWLING. ONEHUNGA GBEEN.. The final for the club championship was played ou the Onehunga Green yesterday afternoon between W. N. Mclntoslr and E. Clarke, victory resting with the former by one point. The game was a closely contested one. and at the first twenty-one heads the score was IS all. An extra five heads were then played, the pair being again level at the third head. On the fourth head, McIntosh gained an advantage of two points and although Clarke made a great effort to get level on the last.head, he could only manage to register one point, suffering defeat, after, an exciting- contest, by one point. The Invitation Fours team for the Easter Tournament, Lomax. A. Brown. J. Shaldrick, and P. Court (skip), were challenged by a team consisting of Yoekney, Grundy E - Allen, and T. George (skip), and, after an interesting game, the challengers won by sis points, the scores being 18 to 12.
