TOPICS OF THE SPORTS WORLD.
FASCINATING ARTICLES.
We have arranged in connection with our Saturday evening sports edition two very fine series of articles. The first, which will commence with our issue of Saturday next, will comprise eight articles on Rugby football topics, by the best known players in the United Kingdom. Among the contributors will be C. H. Cartwright, captain of the English fifteen; E. Gwyn Nieholls, the famous Welshman; E. J. Jackett, who will shortly tour New Zealand; and players of equal prominence in the game to-day. All sides of the game will be dealt with in a general interesting manner, and the articles should be read by the man in the street equally with the enthusiast. The cricketing series, which will commence in May, will be contributed by the best-known players of the day. The Saturday evening sports edition of the "Auckland Star" (on sale on the streets at eight o'clock) contains the results of all important sporting and athletic events throughout the Dominion.
