S.M. COURT.
TESTERX>AT. A LODGING-HOUSE CASE. Tiie case in which Mrs Rachel Basten claimed from Will and Bert Banvard £2 2/2 and *'2 6/3 respectively for board and lodging, was concluded iv the S.M. Court before Sir District Judge Kettle yesterday atternoon. Rebutting evidence was given by one of the defendants, and Miss Jennie Johnston, a boarder. In which it was asserted that the landlady had assaulted the defendant Bt-lt Banvard, and also that there had been a I.reach of contract on the IKirt of the plaintiff. Judgment was given for tho amount claimed, with coats. His Worship holding that unless there was a specirtr- agreement to the contrary, a boanlinghouse keeper had the right to tell a lodger to leave at any time.
THIS DAT. CLAIM FOR COODS DELIVERED
Charles Urowii-Parlcer. an advertising agent, brought an action against C. H. Woodhead, proprietor of the Brilliant Sign Company, u> recover £S 10/. the value of goods sold and delivered. Mr W. E. Moore appeared for plaintiff, aud Mr J. Alexander for defendant. The evidence given by plaintiff was that he had sold defendant'a hundredweight of tinfoil, which he had refused to pay for.
