MANGEB.E. A concert in iiicl of ths Jfansrere Cricket Club, held In the Mnngere Public Hall, ntgiven by the Bernard children. Mrs M. 1?. Klrkhrlde, Mi*' Kirkliriile. and .Messrs l>. Rennic, A. Wi.itß, .1. Hill, and C. W. Clark, all of which were well received. Mr R. Wytunn acted as accompanist. During the evening the prizes won in connection with the picnic of the Mutual Improvement Association were presented.

The an 11 mil harvest and' soiree of the Mannkau Methodist Circuit was held in the Otahuhu Public Hall on Tuesday. A large number sat down to tea. arter which a concert was given. The Her. It. Taylor presided. A choir of thirty voices, conducted by Mr E. Sutherland, sang three anthems. Mr W. Ilennie saug -The River of Years" and "Mao of .Sorrows." Mr Ert. Sutherland played it clarionet solo, and the Key. Jos. Wilson save two recitations. Addresses were given by the Rev. \Y. .]. Watkius, Mr .1. 11. Douglas, and the lirr. Jas. Wilson. The proceeds are in aid of the Circuit funds.

K. rhillipps, provincial president of Cniou, of an illumiuated address. Mr F. Dye made the presentation, and expressed the pleasure of those present at Mr rhillipps , return to Auckland. In responding. Mr I'liillipps spoke of the pleasure it pave him to do anything for the I nion. Ho. said he had felt all along that the farming comumuity was not catered for by the powers that oe as were the meruDers ot the town unions.
