ONEHUNGA BOWLING CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Onehnnga Bowling Club was held iv Kolmes' Hall last evening, when Mr John Howe (president) presided over a large attendance of members.

The committee, in their report of the' past season's work, expressed pleasure at the continuance of tho popularity of the j club and the substantial increase in mem- I hership. This state of affairs was largely due to the excellent condition of the green, for which the thanks of the club are due to the green superintendent and the caretaker. The properties uf the club have been maintained am a satisfactory state of efficiency. The club also desires once more to tender its thanks to the ladies for having supervised the afternoon tea arrangements. A distluct advance has been made by the club in its standard of play, and its representative teams were runners-up iv the pennant "ompetitiou of the Auckland Bowling Association, while the first-rear players had won their competition at the same itournareeut. During the season the club was again fortunate in the number of prizes offered for competition, the generous donors being Messrs J. Nelll, H. J. Davies, T. Bassett, C. Bagley, J. Rowe, J. Murgatroyd, and J. Hardie. The winners durr ing the season were: —Championship, Mr W. N. Mcintosh; championship pairs. Messrs E. JB.' Wright and W. T. Court: lirst-year players. Messrs E. R. Allen and C. J. Schnauer; handicap pairs, Messrs E. Rr Allen and J. JL Priestley; Hardie pair*, Messrs H. A. Ybr-kuey aud G. H. James'; cock of the walk badges. Messrs C. Lomax, .1. Allen, F. W. Court, and W. N. Mcintosh. The balance-sheet showed receipts to have been £428 S/fi, and expenditure £423 5/6, leaving a credit balance of £3 3/. Tim assets totalled £841 18/8. and the liabilities £650 17/8. The report and balanee- | sheet were odooted.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr John Rowe (re-elect-ed): vice-presidents. Messrs J. Neill, C. Bagley, M. 11. Wynyard, D. Neilson. and F. W. Court: secretary, Mr H. J. Davies; treasurer. Mr H. A. Yockn'ey; auditor. Mr J. Robins; delegates to the Auckland Bowling Association. Messrs M. H. Wynyard and C. .1. Schnauer: -match committee, handicapers and selectors. A motion by Mr W. N. Mcintosh, that the club join "the Northern Bowling Association, was lost, as was another by Mr J. Sha!dri<-k. that the club join if the cost did not exceed £20.

A suggestion by Mr C. J. Schnauer, that competitors in the champion pairs enter singly instead of being coupled, as at present, was referred to the match committee. Mr C. Bagley announced his Intention of giving a valuable trophy for competition, the announcement being received with applause.
