MISS JESSIE MACLACHLAN.
The Jessie Maelachlan Concert Company will commence a farewell season at His Majegty's Theatre on Monday evening next. Miss Maclaehlan has just completed a most successful Australian tour. Speaking of -it, a Sydney paper says: "The Jessie.Maclachlan season'of seven concerts at the' Town. Hall was closed in fine style. . Six. concerts in one -week is a record for a visiting singer, but Miss M&dachlan sang even better at the seventh concart than she did at the opening one of the tour." Since Miss Maelachlan's last visit , here, she has added to the company Mr Douglas Young, a Scottish tenor of considerable reputation. Speaking of him, a Canadian paper says: "Mr Douglas Young, a tenor with a, most extraordinary range and control of voice, sang several solos and duets with Miss Maclachlan in a very acceptable manner." Mr John McLinden,' a' young Scottish 'cellist, will be welcomed on making his reappearance with the company. He is an artist-of great ajbility, and his 'cello solos form one of the most pleasing features of the programme. Mr Robert Buchanan acts as accompanist and musical director.
