ARRIVAL OF THE OTAGO REPS.
The Otago rep. team arrived from New Plymouth early this morning, and were met at Onehunga by Messrs D. Hill A ». TatUey, H. B. Speight, and F. S. Sherriffs, members of the management committee of the Auckland Hockey Association. The visitors came in by train to Auckland, where a large number of hockey players accorded them a warm welcome. Hγ H. Rees George, vice-president of the association, received the visitors.
The Otago team put up a fine performance, yesterday when they defeated Taranaki by the substantial margin of fire coals to nil.
To-morrow's match is creating very great interest, aud it should be a stirring contest. The game will be controlled by Mr E. Madden, a member of the Auckland Referees' Association. Play is timed to start at 3 p. m. on the Domain Cricket Ground, where an excellent field has been prepared. Tie Bavarian Band will play selections in front of the pavilion, and afternoon tea will be dispensed by the ladies' association.
To-night the Auckland Hockey Association hold a large "At Home" in the Royal Albert Hall, at whicTi the visitors will be the guests of the local association, as well as the ward-room officers of H.M.s. Prometheus.
