(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Romany King was scratched for all engagements at the Grand National meeting at 12.45 p.m. to-day.
At Messrs. Samuel Vaile and Sons' auction sale to-day, all the properties offered Vere withdrawn, the bids failing to reach the reserve, and in one case a house and 99ft. allotment in Hepburnstreet, was bought in by the mortgagee for £500.
Mr. W. McEride, late chief officer of the Mokoia, has joined the Haupiri as master.
