AUCKRLAND V. OTAGO.
To-morrow the first rep. match of the season will be played on the Domain. Ihe following is the local team, and they may bs relied upon to give a good account 01 themselves:—
Tinsley (goal): An old Canterbury player; liable to be enticed from the circle. Cleans in brilliant style.
Shirrlffis (right fnll-back): Very safe and ■hfl.r f l to l)euL. Porhti,ps the h<l riles t .hitter in Auckland. Places with great judgment. Speight (left full-back).—A ■- promising young player. Should give a good account of himself.
Porter (centre-haif): On defence has no equal. Perhaps a little weak in attack. Brown (wing-half): Stops splendidly. Could, with.advantage, hit harder Kavanagh (wing-naif): The juggler of the team, and hard to beat. Should feed his forwards more. Barry (centre-forward): A tine bully, and fields splendidly. Has eliot more goals than any other piayer in Auckland this season. Is inclined to roam.
Mason (insight-left): A brilliant shot, and particularly clever with his stick; a.so fields and passes well.
Rands (iuside-right): A great bustler; always on the ball. Has well earned nis piace in the reps.
Doyle (right-wing): A dashing player, and centres in great style. Should be careful to play "on side."
Mather (left-wing): A clever player, using the back hand stroke with great accuracy Weak in centring.
