A GISBORNE BANKRUPTCY.

GISBORNE, Monday. At the adjourned meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of W. O. Skeet, builder, the report of an accountant fronr Napier appointed by the creditors' committee was read. The Official Assignee intimated that he considered it his duty, in the face of the report, to proceed further in the matter, independently of the creditors; The accountant ;stated that £44,045 16/11 Had been received by Mr. Skeet from the time of starting in 1902 until the suspension of business.

BOWING ASSOCIATION REGATTA.

PICTON, Monday. Entries closed last night for events in the championship regatta to be rowed at Pictou on Easter Monday. The following clubs are competing: Avon (Ghristchureh), Blenheim Union, Wanganui, Petone, Star (Wellington), Akarba, Nelson, Canterbury, Picton, Invercargill, Wellington; Auckland, Waitemata, Otago, Wahganui Union, Christchurch, and Dunedin Amateur.

FIRE IN A HOTEL.
