SMOKING ON CARS.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I noticed in your columns a reference to the much-discussed question smoking in or on cars. I thought it was decided by the company long ago to prohibit the practice. I quite agree with the lady correspondent that it is a shame for men, even if it were lawful, to compel their fellows—men or women—to inhale tobacco fumes from funnels and mouths which in many cases are anything but clean. Speaking for myself, I think it is the worst kind of selfishness that would inconvenience others for a habit which, to say the least, is a nuisance.—l am, etc, PURE AIR.
