TRANSVAAL LABOUR QUESTION
CAPETOWN, January 19. The mining engineer of the •Franevaal Government has reported that the supply of native labour on the Rand is most unsatisfactory, and it has been found necessary to employ Europeans q# stop-gaps. Generally, work in the mines, in consequence, is disorganised. In the year ending June last £6,000,000 wae paid* in salaries and wages, and of this £4,794,000 was received by white men.
