POLICE COURT.
(Before Mr Blomfield, S.M.) Drunkenness. —Two first offenders were ordered to pay costs and discharged; Patrick Sullivan was fined 10/ and costs; Patrick Murphy, 10/ and costs; George Roberts, 20/ and costs. Exemplary Punishment. — Herbert Skeen was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon for committing an indecent act on the footpath in the Great North-road. For resisting Constable Boag on the same occasion he was fined £5 and costs, in default two months' imprisonment. Detective MeCartney gave Skeen a bad character, and said he belonged to a gang of hoodlums who infestea Newton. inciting to Resist. —John Brown was cbarg-ed with inciting Patrick Murphy to resist. Constable Curtin during an arrest in Queen-street, and was fined 20/ and costs. Charge of Stabbing. —Elizabeth Dougherty was charged with stabbing a man named George Fry at Henderson yesterday. Evidence was given that the accused stabbed the prosecutor with a table knife, but owing to the bluntness of the knife the wounds were not serious. Accused was remanded till next Friday.
