ELLERSLIE TRAINING NOTES. There was again a large muster to witness the training operations at EUlerslie this nioruiug, close upon three hundred being present, and some interesting work was got through. Treadmill was first out, and assisted by Quarryman over the first part and Brave Heart the last seven furlongs, galloped a mile aud a quarter in 2.22 on the outside gruss, going oc another two furlongs. Treadmill did not finish his task as well as usuaL Brave Heart moved with great freedom. Quarryman was easily beaten off. Jewellery ran a mile and a half on the grass in 2.52, Lady Anui'e going with her the last seven furlongs, finishing together. Cyrus and Torchon took 2.3 to run a round of the tan, Cyrus going kinder than usual; while FraiiiVs Lovejoy did a similar task in 1.58, Lady Hune going with her the last five furlongs. Idas (on the outside grass) ran a mile and three-quarters, Llngard assisting four furlongs, and Putty one round, JSuma fetchiug her home the last seven furlongs, the time for the distance being ;i.20. laas had only a light weight, but finished up her task in good style, and made many friends. Romolo finished in front of Muthemti over five furlongs on the grass in I.G. Golden Vein, Stronghold, and Windwhistle were companions over six furlongs on the grass, run in 1.20, Golden Vein beating Stronghold a length, Windwhistle beaten oft". Float, alone, did a mile on the tan in 1.48, and Meuura. with Ropa as a companion, ran a round of the same track in 2.1. Romeo made his first appearance at Ellerslie this season, aud ran a mile and a quarter on the grass in 2.20*. liomeo, who had no companion, moved freely, and has evidently improved since Takapuna. He will be ridden in the Cup by Lindsay. Machine Gun spurted four furlongs on the grass in 50i. Avalanche, on the tan, got over seven furlongs' in 1.3 C. General Symons easily held Val Rosa at the end of a mile and a half on the tan in 2.43. Dolores ran seven furlongs on the grass (assisted by The Doctor over *he last five furlongs) in 1.344- Fetrovna. on the grass, ran five furlongs In 1.7, Maorllaiid hopping off witu her, but was of very little use after two furiongs had b?en covered. Conclusion and Galahad finished together at the end of five furlongs on the tan In 1.5. Hinetaura and Melodeon, on the grass, were companions over a mile and a quarter, run in 2.24. Ilinetaura had most to say at the finish. Wairiki covered a circuit on the tan, going at top the last seven furlongs in 1.34. Cyuct assisting him over the last. Fix. TVniriivF finished very biidly, but is not sern ro advantage on the tan. Gladsome and Silkworm, who w?re a length past the post, ran a fast five fnrlousrs on the CraffE from a standing start in L 4&, both finishing well. Despatch and Semonia worn companions over seven furlongs on the "rass run in 1.30. Seatonia was pulled off jnst before the finish. Stsirsboot finished well in front of Idea over six furlongs on the grass, run in 1.21. Delania and Marshal Sonlt did a shnilar task in 1.19, the fastest gallop of the morning. Buluwayo on the outside of the course ran five furlongs alone in 1.9. Girton Girl and Kohima on the grass left five furlongs behind k> 1.0, Rninbler and TVaipuna going a. similar distance In 1.7. Promotion, alone ran four furlongs on the grass ia 52J. Hohoro did

six furlongs on the grass in 1.20 2-5, Curagno going- with him the first two furlongs, which were slowest, Solo bringing him home the last four. Hohoro galloped resolutely, and is very well. Useful tasks were also performed by the following:—Cuisine, Xewtowu. Gold Seal, Golden Sands. Uufus, Crespin, Major, St. Olga, Bouomiana, Anuiiyi'd. Maroon iuid Gold, Inchcape, Scotty, Creasy, Bonheur, Nor'-west, Dingo, Irish, Tresham, Spalpeen, Haydn, Maro, and Up-to-Date" After breakfast Kyra and Inspiration ran six furlongs on the tan in 1.19. Gladstone Buiahed in front of Kilmarnock over six furlongs on the in 1.21. Nonette, with Ti> Aroha as a companion, ran six furlongs on the tan in 1.17, going nicely. Sally Homer, on the grass, was in front of Daffodil at the end of live furlongs, run in I.SJ. Wairakau, ulono, spurted four furlongs on tuo grass in ",2i. Coronation and Eureka ran live furlongs on the grass in 1.91, Coronation linishing in front. Orange and Blue, alone, ran seven furlmigs on the grass in 1.34. The following were also out and did useful work:—Native Rose, Ilip'powai, Mauku, Cannongate, Mideyr, Kljlu. Tapuwai, Tuni. Elspeth, Kiiamn, Lady Babs, Yslette, Pamperia. Uranus, Ottoman, Veldt, Tip, Hipstone, Ngatoro, Portland Lass, and Love Link. Pipi and Agitator went once around the Steeplechase course, both jumping well.
