INTERPROVINCIAL CRICKET.

WELLINGTON V. HAWKE'S BAY.

NAPIER, Monday. The interprovincial cricket match, Wellington v. Hawke's Bay, was resumed to-day. The wicket was rather slow, rain having fallen heavily during Sunday night. Staples and Day, the not-out men, continued their Innings, the former playing a steady game until he was run out at the ninth wicket with his score at 78. Quee and Upham also batted well for 50 and 4(5 respectively, Quee, in particular, making , some line strokes and storing freely. The innings closed for 263, or 25 behind Hawke's Bay. In their second innings Hawke's Bay have 48 to their credit without the loss of a wicket, Bishop and Hawke being not out with 32 and 16 against their respective names.
