A Serious Charge.—A half-caste named Timothy Pacard "Christian was charged with having carnal knowledge of a little girl under the age of ten. The court was cleared before the case was heard. The evidence Jor the prosecution, which was of a very painful character, was given by the little girl, Dr. Walker and others. His Worship intimated his intention of committing accused for trial, but snecused expressed a wish to call witnesses for his defence, and His Worship ;idjourne.d the case until next week to allow him to do this.
