PORT ALBERT
On Thursday a large number of settlers from the surrounding- settlements followed to the grave in .the Wellsford Cemetery the laic Mr Walter Treadwell. The deceased was the second son of Mr J. Treadwell, our "village blacksmith." The deceased was a quiet, steady, industrious young- man, aged 2". years. A few months" ago he was strong and hearty, but was taken ill ami removed to the Auckland Hospital, where he died on the previous Saturday.
In a few, months we shall see the Wayby Butter Factory in active operation. Last week the directors of the Wayby Co-operative Association accepted Mr G. T. Hartnell's tender for creeling the factory at Wayby, and also accepted Mr Walter Witheford's tender for creamery at Port Albert. It is probable the factory will start working- about the middle of October. Already cows are in demand at increased values.
