MANUKAU YACHT CLUB.

The eighth race of the season was sailed at Onehunga on Saturday afternoon over the same course and subject to the same conditions as the racing of the previous Saturday.

The first prize was a garden seat, presented by Mr R. Vause; and the second prize half a ton of coal, presented by Messrs H. and H. Bray. The following were the handicaps:— Anahera, scratch; Maka Maile, 3m; Alma, 6m; Moa, 6m; Sarah, 7m; Belle, 8m; Malua, Sm; Pretoria, 14m; Ladysmith., 15m; Tui, 15m; Mascotte, 15m; Mizpah, 17m; Fedora, 18m; Planet, 18m; Endeavour, 19m; Molly Swash, 20m; St. Anns, 23m; Iris, 24m; Myrtle, 29m; Industry, 27m; Petrel, 37m; Esma, 37m; Daisy, 40m; Neva, 40m. The race was a very open one, the boats being favoured with a leading wind from the start, which lasted until the race was nearly finished, when it veered round from the south to south-west. Notwithstanding the change in the wind, the Daisy, which had been leading for some time, maintained her position to the end, thus coming in first, with Petrel second, and Myrtle third. This is the second race counting for the club's cup, and so far Molly Swash stands first favourite, with 18 points.
