PLATFORM INVITATIONS.
The committee appointed to issue invitations for the city portion of the reception platform concluded their work yesterday afternoon. Invitations have been issued to the following:—The Mayor and his party, the City Councillors, city solicitor, Sinking Fund Commissioners, health officer, ex-Mayors, University professors. Library Committee, Mackelvie trustees, Elam School of Art trustees, reglstrat, University Council, president and secretary Auckland Institute, chairman City Schools Committee, Mayors and town clerks suburban boroughs, chairmen of subscribing Road Boards, Executive Committee Philson's trustees, New Zealand Natives' Association, professional advisers; representatives early settlers, viz., Mr John Webster, Mr J. T. Boylan, Colonel Haultain, Captain Daldy and the Rev. Dr. Purchas, subscribers of £3 3/ and upwards. The invitations include the wives of the gentlemen invited. The committee after including subscribers of £3 3/ found that several seats were vacant, and balloted for them amongst the subscribers of £2 2/.
