PROVISION FOR THE VOLUNTEERS.
Mr W. J. Napier, M.H.R., has forwarded the following telegram to the Minister for Defence:—"The volunteers are to be called out on arrival of the Duke and Duchess, about 9 a.m., and no provision is made for their refreshments. They will be on duty till about 4 p.m. J presume the Defence Department will provide the men with dinner. Kindly let me know what is intended."
Mr Napier has received a reply from he Premier staling that Colonel Pen,on is now in Auckland, and the mater will doubtless be attended to.
