GISBORNE, this day

At a meeting of the, Beautifying Association the chairman, Mr De La tour, initiated important proposals for providing the district with adequate places of recreation. He suggested the purchase of Kati Hill, overlooking the port, and harbour, and Waiherebere quarry, a delightful picnic spot, about eight miles out, and the only relic of native bush near town. Tbe proposal was well received.
