OLD AGE PENSIONS.

The Stipendiary Magistrate, Mr T. Hutchison, made a start on pension matters in respect to Waitemata County yesterday. Constable KeUy, the Deputy Registrar, appeared on behalf of the Registrar. A few ca_ses had to be adjourned, one was struck out on account of property, whilst in a third instance the Court instructed Mr Kelly to confer with Mr Kingand submit a report in connection with a pensioner recently transferred to Auckland. The following awards were made for full pensions of £18: — Henrjr Holbrook. William Wilkie, John ,11'enry Makett, Henry Preas Eplirira Prosser, Benjamin Lynn, Bridget Boyle, Joseph Gager, James Cummins, Emma, Croyden Cros-s, and Alexander Hay. After examination of proofs and hearing the Deputy, James Sheriff'was authorised a certificate for £3, and Catherine George only £2, it having' been ascertained that her husband disposed of property during last year on whicli he made a profit of £100.

At the Old Age Pensions Court yesterday afternoon pensions to the full amount of £18 were granted to the following by Mr H. W. Brabant. S.M.:—Jane McKay, James Cassell Jones. Carew Henry Reynell, Henry George Ogle, Daniel McCormick, Mary Ann Martha Philpott. John Philpott. Charles Rose, Charles Hassett, Emma Freeson, James Montgomery, Isabell Mary Farrell, Thomas Elwin Powley, Sajrah Eliza Green, Jane Crocker, Catherine Downey, Thomas Fent'on. Bernard McCaffrey, George Edward Herbert, and Andrew Halpin. Other pensions grarrted were:—Mary Ann Elizabeth Nesbitt, £16; Robert Nesbitt. £13; Elizabeth Presccrtt, £13; Reuben Prescott, £S; Henry Richard Jury, £5; Mary Smith, £3, An instalment of pensions is payable to-morrow at the Harbour Board Offices.
