Horses: Have been brought forward in average numbers, and a good demand prevails at prices in favour of the vendor. There was a good muster at the Durham Yards on Friday, and competition was good. Unbroken harness horses from Taranaki sold at from £15 10/ to £20/; heavy draughts, £22 10/ to £32 15/; medium do., £15 17/ Cto £24; light harness do., £5 12/6 to £14 15/J hacks, £3 10/ to £11 17/6. A spring trap made £12; roadster, £9; a turnout, £39.

Cattle: At the Newmarket Yards en Tuesday dairy and store cattle were penned in usual numbers. Dairy cows sold at from £4 10/ to £7 lii/; dry cows, £2 5/ to £3 18/; grown steers, £4 5/ to £6 7/G. Beef was yarded in full numbers, and met a ready sale at last week's quotations. Oxen sold at from 20/ to 23/ per 100 lbs; cows, 17/ to 19/. Fat steers sold at from £6 12/6 to £9 17/6; cows, £4 5/ to £7 7/6.

Sheep: The Newmarket Yards were well filled on Tuesday. AVethers sold up to late rates, but fat ewes were lower. AVethers made from 14/ to 17/6; ewes and wethers, mixed, 12/1) to 15/6; lambs from 9/6 to 13^9.

Pigs w*.ro yarded in usual nu nbers. Porkers sold at from £1 7/ to £113/; weaners. 3/6 to 11/9.

At Waiuku on Saturday there was an average muster, and without exception everything sold under the hammer. Cows sold at from £4 5/ to £7 2/6; fat cows, £4 to £6 12/6; calves, £1 1/ to £3 2/. At Tuakau on Wednesday there was a good muster,- and Newmarket rates ruled throughout.

Hides, Skins, Tallow, etc.: "We offered an average catalogue at our weekly sale on Tuesday, prices all round being on a -par Avith late rates. We sold as follows:

Hides: Stout ox, s}d to G|d; medium, 4Jd to sd; light, 3i?d to 4}d; cow, 33d to 4d; picked, 4Jd; stags, 2.id to 2id; kip, 3id to 4d per lb.

Sheepskins: Salted pelts, 1/4 to 1/1; lambs, 3/3 to 1/10; dry, 3d to 6d less.

Wool (in bags): Crossbred, _& to 4Jd; lambs, 3id to 4id; pieces, locks, etc., P.d to 22d ncr lb.

Tallow: Best, 18/6 to 20/ per cwt.

Tails: 1/10 per dozen.

Maize: The Australian markets are again easier, and a small quantity was shipped, at 2/2 per bushel, though not sufficient to clear up the arrivals. The local market therefore ls overstocked.

Oats are easier, being worth 1/11 c.i.f, for large quantities.

Chaff is selling at £2 17/6 per ton at rail, by the truck load.
