LOCOMOTIVES
The "Indian and Eastern Engineer" has received a report from an ■Indian locomotive superintendent; in which the writer says he has seen reports from the locomotive superintendents of the Indian railways which have bought American-built engines. From the long string of complaints in each report, it would appear that the engines could not run at all. Both the Indian engines and those recently supplied to English railways are, from report, heavy coal consumers.
