NAPIER-STREET SCHOOL CONCERT.
CTo the Editor.)
Sir,—l attended the successful Concert given lately by the Beresford-street school children 'v the Opera House, twice. Thefe was au immense ctqwcl outside on both occasions before the doors were opened; onehnlf were children, and it was a wonder that some of them we're not seriously in-' jnred in the rush to get in. Xo doubt there will be a big attendance on Friday, night, when the Napier-street school concert takes place, and I beg to suggest to the managers the propriety of having the doors open at say a qucrter to 7 o'clock. This will prevent the gathering of a big crowd and will probably prevent accidents. I hope that the extra charge of sixpence for admission by the early door will not be made. The proposal has given offence to many of the parents, especially the mothers, who. have been put to a lot of trouble and expense in preparing proper costumes for the young-, stcrs. A charge of th's kind has never been made at similar gatherings in Auckland, and when levied by some theatrical companies has always been resented by the public—l am, etc, PATER.
