HAUKAKI FREEHOLD.
All necessary sheds and outbuildings have been erected ready for the erection of the proposed machinery at the Hauraki Freeholds mine, Coromandel.
At the last meeting of the Coromandel County Council the following resolution was passed: "That the application of the Hauraki Freeholds Limited /or rights to mine under the streets, roads, and reserves in Wynyardtown South be granted in respect of such of the roads, streets, and reserves as are under the control of Ihe Council, and .so far only as the Council has power to grant such rights, it being distinctly provided that the council in no way warrants or guarantees any rights to the company, Mr Harris, on behalf of the Hauraki Freeholds (Limited), indemnifying the Council against all damages and costs, and provided that no mining be carried on within 50 feet of the surface of such roads, streets, or reserves."
