CHRISTCHURCH, this day
Mr Thos. Garrard, secretary of the Industrial Association, on Saturday afternoon was ran over by a carriage while cycling in the city. One of the horses and two wheels went over him. Although severely shaken, no bones were broken.
On Saturday afternoon the large Methodist Church and Sunday-school in St. Asaph-street were burned co the ground. The church, schoolroom, and, contents were insured in the Royal Exchange office for £1300.
