OHINEMURI COUNCIL.

At the meeting of the above last Thursday, on an application from Mr Woolmer, manager of the, Waitekauri Extended Company, the sum of £30 was voted to be spent at once in forming a, road from the Waitekauri Dross mine to the Extended Com. pai.y's property, to enable them to- get up their new machinery for the mine.
The Waihi School of Mines applied for a grant, and on the motion ot Cr. Barry, seconded by Cr. Poland, £50 was voted instead of the usual £23.
The residents along the Grace Darling Road, Waitekauri, applied to have their road formed and metalled before the winter, but as the engineer deemed it too late in the season to undertake this work the Council, on the motion of Cr. McClelland, decided to construct a new bridge over the river and to- form a path for foot passengers, the road to be done next summer.
Cr. Stackpole asked for £50 to form and repair the road from the- Karangahake Hall track across to the Te Aroha Road, and this was granted.
The question of the drainage of that portion of Karangahake township opposite the Crown battery was introduced by Mr Marrinan, who urged the Council to take immediate steps to deal with this danger to the health of the town. It was decided that the Engineer report on the best method of dealing with the matter.
Some ground applied for by the Karangahake School Committee was granted; also an application to lower the water pipes near the school.
Mr Brown, manager of the National Bank at Paeroa, applied for an extension of the metalling which is being done in Norm an by Road, Paeroa, past his premises. The Engineer reported the work would cost £65. Tt was decided to have it done to the end of Vincent's shop.
Tt was decided that Mr Flctt, of Waihi, be instructed to remove the verandah flooring in Rosemount Road and to bring his verandah posts out to the end of the footpath.
The footpath in Hazard-street, Waihi, is to be formed and the Engineer is to report on the: application from Lieut. Me Arthur, of the Paeroa volunteers, for a track to be formed to the range.
