AMUSEMENTS.

DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY

A packed house greeted Mr P. 11. Dixs company at the City Hall on Saturday night, when a change of programme was given. In the first part "'The .'achling Tarty," new songs comic and patriotic, were given. Mr Mi I ford Haven sang "Let Ale Like a Soulier Fall." in good style. Miss AniK.it;- l.odin was re-called again and again for her serio-comic items. The Williams. Sisters were most favourably received for their songs and dances, banjo and cycling specialties. The popularity of Mr Frank Yorke could not be mistaken, the audience never seeming satisfied, and Mr Yorke had to re-appear several times. The patriotic chorus arranged by Mr Scott Leighton, aiul tableau "Britannia," aroused the er.t husiasm of the audience to a high pitch. Ilexo i n his jugglery feats was vt'ry successful, as was Mr .J. .Collins in his Irish ballads. The Frcdos made their last appearance, and were accorded warm applause. The concluding sketch "The Fellow That Looks Like Me," sent all home laughing. The punkahs erected in the hall were a welcome innovation, the building being very cool. To-night Messrs Lennon, Hymau and Lennoii make their first appearance, having arrived by the Elingumite to-day.
