IMPERIAL.
PAEROA, this day
This Company has cut No. 3 reef on the low level crosscut, and reef has come to hand nearly 20 feet sooner than was expected. It maintains an average width of 2 ft., and the stone gives free gold by pounding. From its general- appearance the lode is of similar quality to that being obtained from the lode upon which the winze is being sunk. This winze will be continued and a rise commenced to meet it from the low level. When communication- is effected driving north and sOmfh on the course of the lode will be undertaken, and should the present value be maintained for 100 feet or so the Company will be in a position to consider the advisability of erecting a small crushing plant, as,the distance, from the low level to upper workings gives 150 feet backs, which would give a good supply of ore.
