NEW WHAU.
THAMES, this day
The prospects of this mine continue of a most encouraging nature, in fact the lode, is greatly improving as it is driven upon. The reef maintains its former size, carries ruby, silver, and splendid coante dabs of gold. The manager intended breaking down today, but owing to an influx of water in the face, and the country being somewhat soft, he fouud it necessary •to timber for safety, consequently breaking down has been postponed for a day or two. The manager is very sanguine of meeting with even better results at next breaking down than heretofore.
