VOLUNTEER NOTES.
The Auckland Infantry ' Battalion will come out oi' camp to-morrow afternoon, after being- eight days under canvas. A night alarm "-was rehearsed on Wednesday night, 'the College Cadets being t>he attacidng party, and this morning- the battalion were exercised in attack drill, Serg-eant r Major Carpenter acting-. fiis instructor. ■ There was a large muster of the Devohport Coastguard Artillery last night at the Drill Shed, Wellesleystreet. the corps' meeting- for inspection by 'Lieut-Colonel Banks. The company was under the'command of Captain Napier. After inspection the corps was put through company drill and carbine, exercises by ■■ Captain Grant, Adjutant of. the, "forces. A meeting of the company was held immediately after drill, when Mr F. Tarrant was elected a' lieutenant- of 'the company.
