[By winning the St. Legpr, the in- j vincible English colt Flying Fox has j made a great record, for having won ; the Two Thousand Guineas, Derby, | and St. Leger, he figures among the j "triple crown" celebrities, viz., West Australian, Gladiateur, Lord Lyon, Ormonde, Common, Isinglass, and thej Irish bred colt Galtee More. During ■ the season Flying Fox has won j £ 2G,175 in stakes, and now the St., Leger, worth'probably £5,000, has to, be added to this amount. The colt _ was bred privately by his owner, the Duke of Westminster, and was trained : at the celebrated Kingsclere establishment by John Porter, who has acted in that capacity since 1881. No doubt those present on the heath at the "great race of the North" gave Flying Fox a great reception at triumphing over the American bred colt Caiman, who would be ridden by "Tod" Sloan. j It may be mentioned as a two-year-old' Flying Fox was defeated by Caiman j in the Middle Park Plate at Newmarket.]
