WAIKATO NOTES.
CAMBRIDGE
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
CAMBRIDGE, Monday.
On Saturday the hounds had a good day's sport at Pukekura, but a number of the followers' came to grief, and, sad to relate, the buggy belonging to'our old friend "Ned" Hewitt, who is the very life of the hunt, collapsed, but fortunately it was not when the hounds were running,, or the consequences would hate been serious.
The remains of Mrs Frank Gane were interred in the Cambridge cemetery on Saturday, the cortege being a very large one. She was loved and respected by all, and the floral offerings were both numerous and handsome. One very handsome wreath was received from Auckland; it arrived/too Tate for the funeral, but was placed on the grave yesterday. At the W.sleyan Church the Rev. W. Cannell referred, to the sad event at both the morning and evening services;- and at the Anglican Church the Dead March was played upon the organ, the congregation remaining standing meanwhile.
