PAEROA NEWS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) PAEItOA, Wednesday. A movement is on foot, to amalgamate all the coaching firms carrying on business at Ohinemuri, and to run regular time-tables to Knrangahake. YVaitokauri and Waihi. The Native Land Court sat on Tuesday before Judge Edger and Mr .John Ormsby, assessors, for the purpose of completing the subdivision of the Owharoa Block of 155 acres. The Ohinemuri Syndicate had acquired the interests of six out of seven owners, and the subdivision required was for the purpose of cutting off the. share of the non-sellers, who claimed a piece whero most of the buildings and improvements had been effected in the Owharoa township. The matter was settled by the natives receiving onefourth of the total river frontage of the block, the location being at the, southern end of it. The area ordered I for the Ohinemuri Syndicate was 132 acres 3 roods 18 perches, and for the natives 22 acres 0 roods 22 perches, Mr J. A. Miller appeared for the Ohinemuri Syndicate, and Messrs Harper and James Mackay for the natives. The Miners' Union at Waihi propose to start a co-operative, store as soon as sufficient shares are subscribed. The shares are to be £1 each, and the profits to be divided equally between the share capital and the customers. The following officers have been appointed:—President, Mr R. Newdick; vice-president, Mr T. Long; trustees, Messrs Ongly .i.nrl E. J. Dm mm; committee of management, Messrs Norton, G. Hartmann, J. Courtayne, D. Conway, J. Lang. R. Loane, Newth, T. Carless, P. Mahon and R. Arscott; secretary, Mr A. Y." Ross.
