WELLINGTON, this day.
Lady Stout, writing on. the social evil iii Wellington, advocates'the formation of a Social Purity Society amongst men. The Times condemns the existing ' state of management of Industrial Schools .as creating hot beds of crime and as being costly, but contends that the Government cannot relegate its functions to the Salvation Army without subverting the principle of liberty. The State must beware of a Salvation Army imperium in imperio. The Times advocatss the adoption by the State of the Army methods. . .
The Minister of Education went South yesterday.
