CYCLING MEETING AT CHRISTCHURCH.

CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The Christchurch Cycling Club held a race meeting at Lancaster Park to-day, there being 5000 people present. The principal races resulted as follow:— Mile Handicap: B. A. Wall, 16yds, 1; G. Sutherland, scr, 2; R. J. Cooke, ,60yds, 3 Time, 2m 24 l-ss. Three-mile Second-class Handicap: J. E. Power, 70yds, 1; R. J. Cooke, 20yds, 2; W. H Hall, 20yds, 3-. There were over 30 starters in this race, and only two or three dropped out. There was a spill as the bell rang, H. Ritchie receiving a scalp wound. The finish was a flnecme. Time, 7m 10s. Champion Stakes, half-mile: G. Sutherland, 1; A. Ralston, 2; W. Tierney, 3. Won comfortably. Time, lm 10 4-ss. Two-mile Wheel Race: t C. G. Jones, 290 yds, 1; G. Sutherland, scr* 2; EL Ritchie, 210yas, 3. Won by a foot. Time, 4m 25 4-ss. .
