KAUKI GUM MARKET,

The position of the market shows little alteration this week, prices remaining at the same level. Supplies of poor grade gum are now coming in beyond requirements. For the eight days of this month no less than 1522 tons of gum of all descriptions have been sent in, an average of 40 tons per day, and the bulk of this was of low grade. The barque Peru has hauled off into the stream, and will sail shortly for New York direct with a cargo of gum. The Star of the East and the Silverstream are still loading. A barque, probably- the Elizabeth Graham, from Newcastle, or the Onyx, from Dunedin, was signalled in the Gulf this afternoon. ___..
