MB G. W. GOODSON'S CREDITORS.

ANOTHER VOLUNTARY DIVIDEND.

A meeting of creditors of C. W. Goodson was held at. the office of the Official. Assignee to-day, there being in attendance: —Messrs L. Benjamin (Hayman and Co.), H. C. Tewsley (Sargood and Son),- D. C. Cattanach (Collins and Co.), and Jackson. Mr Lawson ■ (Official Assignee) presided.

The Official Asignee said that, since the bankruptcy in 18(37 Mr Goodson had made voluntary payments to his creditors of £1589 5/5, the sum of £")87 15/10 being paid- in January, 1897, and £041 6/11 in December, 1898, arid now he was dividing in January 1599 the sum of £360 2/8.

This left a balance of £3GO 2/8. Debtor had also paid dividends amounting to 5Jd in the £ under the bankruptcy in the year 1886. He understood it was Mr Goodson's intention to have wiped the whole amount out that day, and he would leave it to the debtor to give his reason why he had not done so. It gave him pleasure that Mr Goodson had come forward in such an honourable manner.

Mr Goodson said he was glad to meet his creditors again. To pay them was a .'moral claim which he felt binding on him, and he hoped to complete the full payment before the end of this century. Mr Tewsley on behalf of the creditors said that Mr Goodson in comingl forward year "after year to meet his creditors was to be admired, and he was deserving1 of all praise. He hoped that Mr Goodson would be long spared to control his business, and he felt sure that he had the good wishes of the trading- community of Auckland. Mr tioodsoii thanked Mr Tewsley tfor his hind expressions, and the speaker added that before this year closed he would be able to liquidate the last moral claim binding on him.

The Official Assignee announced the cheques were ready, and the meeting dispersed with good wishes" for Mr Goodson's future success.
