WHANGAREI, this day
Great preparations are being made for the annual races to be held here next Friday and Saturday. The town will be in great gala. Every arrangement is. being made to receive and entertain; the Auckland visitors expected by the steamer Waka'tere. The racecourse is in splendid order, and it is anticipated this will be the biggest meeting ever held in the North. The. visitors avi'll have an opportunity of visiting the Puhipuhi silver field and the kauri forest by special train, also the Kama mineral springs, eaves, Hikurangi coal mines, orchards, orangeries, etc.
