WELLINGTON, this day,
The Mayor tide! the City Council last night that to make tin-"electric light of the city and provide for traction, street lighting and hou.se lighting, and to deal properly with the matter from the beginning, together with the amount it would be necessary to raise for an etlieient water supply and extended drainage scheme, would necessitate, the raising of something like £250,000. The matter would have to be approached in the most careful manner, and nothing- could be done till they had proper expert help.
