HARBOUR BOARD COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the members of the Works and Tariff Committee was hold yesterday afternoon at tho Harbour Board Olllces, when thoro were present, Me^ra M. Niocol (Chairman)i T. Henderson, A. J. Entrlcan, and E. Bell.
Tho foreman of works reported upon tho designs of hilt minis at» KuunnMed. stating the estimate of cost appeared correct, but he was tmtUfied tho punts a* designed were not suited to lltu hilt raised in the Auckland Harbour. It was resolved to forward a copy of the report to tho designer. Mr Taylor also submitted a report furnishing details of account for repairs to wharves and jottien. It showed tho total estimates to have been £1,904 1O« 2d, and the actual expenditure waa £2,700 7ft Od, The secretary explained that it was almost impossible to estimate tho real cost of repairs until a job was opened up. With regard to the storage of explosives, tl»o Chairman said the matter had not got much further ah ami. Colonel Polo-Penton was in Anckland, and would be seen in due course upon tho question of site.
