SLY GROG-SELLING IN THE KING COUNTRY.
ANOTHER BATCH. OF CASES.

TE AWAMUTU, this day. Another batch of sly grog-yellers from the King Country came up for trial at the usual monthly sitting of the Magistrate's Court here yesterday. Eight informations were laid, and the police were successful in obtaining seven convictions. Amongst the number were two Maoris who received 21 days each on the occasion of the last raid made by Inspector Cullen. Heavy fi nes were inflicted as follows : —Police v.'Kinoj £50 and costs £10; same v. Tera, £20 and costs £10; same v. Cribb, £20 and costs £10; same v. Taheke, £20 and costs £2 17s. The fines are to be paid by 26th January or in default Kingi 30 days and the others 21 days.
