(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday.
At the annual meeting of the Canter. bury Frozen Meat Company to-day the report and balance-sheet were adopted. The retiring directors, Messrs J. Griggand J. T. Ford, were re-elected unopposed, The Chairman (Mr Grigg), in his address said the directors had discovered-that there had been a loss for more than one year oil bacon-curing, and they bad deckled to abandon that branch. It had on the whole been profitable, but the space it occupied was required for more freezing and coolin« rooms. The directors were making arrange" ments to improve the disposal of their pro. duce in London. They had concluded that the present large number of brands and lots was a disadvantage in the Home market, and they had resolved to ask shippers to pool their meat, so as to reduce that number. He congratulated the shareholders on the balance-sheet being the best ever presented to them. He regarded the future prospects as decidedly good.
