RETURNING PROSPERITY TO VICTORIA.

UTTERANCES BY THE PREMIER.

(From the Prahran 'Telegraph.')

Quite recently we heard that the Premier of Victoria had, during his term of office, done much to place his colony on its financial legs; he and his government had, in fact, been more successful than any precedingones, and an actual surplus existed. Good. But an omission was made with reference to health statistics. This is greatly to be wondered at, for Victoria is doav in a healthier state than she ever was before, and one Avould have, expected the head of the Government to take some credit for this desirable change. Why this silence? For honesty's sake only?
